Local study records
Decks, selected source code, review responses, recent repositories, and streak information are stored on your device or in your browser profile storage. The updated app keeps a bounded local deck history for reopening study sessions. Private repository source can therefore remain in local app data. The updated app uses opaque local session references in navigation URLs. Earlier versions placed deck content in navigation URLs; those URLs can remain in browser history or request logs and must be managed separately. Card generation analyses selected source files on device; it does not send the code to an AI generation service.
GitHub requests
Importing a repository sends requests directly to GitHub for repository information, file lists, and selected source files. GitHub receives technical request information. If you connect an optional GitHub token, it is sent to GitHub in authorization headers. A connected token can grant access to private repositories; use only the access you intend to provide.
Token control
Remove the token in app settings when you no longer want to use it. Token storage depends on your app version. The updated native app uses the operating-system credential vault; the updated web app keeps the token only in memory until reload. Older releases used local app storage. These improvements require the corresponding app release.
Exports and source links
Deck exports can contain source code from the selected repository. You control where exported files are saved or shared. Opening an exact source link contacts GitHub through your browser. Review permissions before sharing private repository code.
Analytics and deletion
doomscroll has no app analytics service or cloud sync of your study records. The updated app offers a confirmed removal of local decks, progress, history, activity, and its saved token. This does not delete exported files, operating-system backups, browser history, or GitHub records. Credential-vault entries can persist separately from app storage; remove the token explicitly. Website analytics are described in the studio website policy.
